Sighting this woman from a distance, it became evident that her aura drew me towards her. In any case I was looking to speak to an emancipated woman that morning. Part of a routine that I had set for myself. Having never been afraid to approach people, stories and lives narrated and shared seemed to have become my forte. I watched as she floated from rack to rack and settled for the spirituality section. Today was just that. I was prepared for a variety of subjects that could be shared for the discerning few.

Robust curls framed her attractive face, her septum ring stood out in rebel mode, a long curling snake graced her right hand, being bound with a Rudhraksh bracelet. All outer dimensions, clearly reaching out, this was going to be an interesting conversation. As I spoke to Palki Punjabbi, I learned a lot of things. She was proud to claim that she had mastered a lot of subjects pertaining to the world of Spirituality. 

Yoga and meditation almost went hand in hand for this young Geminin mother who has just turned 40. Today she is an Astrologer, Numerologist, Angel Therapist and a Reiki Healer. But not one to sit around and bask in that glory, Palki moved on to learning many more things from her teacher. She mastered the art of the Tarot and Runes, Spells, switch words, and candle rituals

Spirituality had embraced her from a very young age, as it only does with a chosen few. It reaches out and grabs them when they are either inclined or quite by surprise, the ones who are willing to be brave enough to speak and share about the wonders of existence to the world. Definitely not for the weak hearted. She immediately shared that she hailed from a small town – Yamuna Nagar/ Haryana, and was brought by her parents to Mumbai at two and half years of age.

Her first tryst with the unknown, was at the tender age of 6. It clearly caught her unawares as it did with her family. She was a very active child but mellowed down after the experiences left her confused. Her first incident was when her uncle was searching for a pair of shoes that nobody could find, and she just breezed in from her games and showed him where they were exactly. On being asked, she replied that just the day before she had the same exact vision of the scenario, so she knew where they were. After helping him, she continued to go out and play. 

Palki then began sharing her dreams and visions and their happenings with her mother, who believed her. Then the visions began to surface again in her teens. This was something that really got her parents thinking. Once they were returning from a trip to Pune, and while other people were unloading stuff from the car, Palki remembers rushing into her home and she bumped into her cousin who hugged her tightly and said that she will see him soon and rushed out. Still at the door, her mom looked at her quizzically and inquired why she was still at the door. Palki replied that she just encountered her cousin Ajinkya. A moment later her mother answered the phone and gets the news that the same cousin has passed away in an unfortunate bike accident. That eerie incident left them in shock. Undoubtedly a vision for Palki.

Her parents then became very vigilant around her and took her visions quite seriously after that. But to date she agrees that she sees visions of events that eventually happen later. She carried on with regular life getting married at 24. Before that she graduated in commerce, dabbling in flight management, fashion designing and java programming, working with her mother creating granules for non-woven fabrics. Her daughter Danika is 12 today and following in her mother’s footsteps.

But in the meantime, living with in laws, being the near perfect wife, mother and daughter in law got her life going. Post marriage saw her working in Balaji TeleFilms as one of the senior designers in their fashion department. She quit when she conceived. She didn’t really think she would share her experiences with people till her daughter was born. Her routine always included a lot of meditation even post marriage and being a mom, it was incorporated into her being. She didn’t label it meditation, but she felt she was connecting with the divine powers, more like Maa Jagdamba (Shiv Shakti).

With time she felt like with her immense trust and faith led her to invoke the powers that she has today as a staunch believer. She began to learn by just listening to people, that led her to people reaching out to her. She reached out to her main teacher – Neelam Ghewaala who taught a few of the modalities like aura cleansing, Bhagwa Vastu, face & palm readings, etc. A chance meeting in a mall led them to spending and sharing time with each other where synergies were exchanged. Today Palki helps people with readings and her practices are shared with the needy. All this of course is never advertised. People find her through word of mouth.

What she would like to share without hesitation though is that she runs a foundation for the needy called The Divine Touch (NGO) and though she puts in all that she can twice a week donating study material, for 600 kids or more, and water and food for more than 200 people, she could always do more if more people came forward. The NGO is what she will support in the future.
