About
Yamashiro is a fantastic gem in the heart of Hollywood. Meaning “Mountain Place” in Japanese, this restaurant is meant to be a replica of a palace near Kyoto. It has a spectacular city view, stunning architecture and a tranquil garden courtyard.
The entire outer dining room was added to the structure, expanding the capacity and affording more of those pristine views down into Hollywood. The bar area is also pretty new, with upgraded flooring and interior accents.
With original lamps that were installed in the 1914’s, Yamashiro’s design has gorgeous wooden details that give it a unique and upscale feel. As one of LA’s most popular special event venues, it has become iconic through feature films including Memoirs Of A Geisha. It has also become THE space for events like wedding receptions and elite parties.
Review
Yamashiro’s menu has everything you would want in an Asian Fusion restaurant – from sushi rolls and shrimp tempura to their famous shoyu-glazed black cod, it’s all delicious!
The food may be a tad bit pricey, but you are paying for their incredible view as well as the mouth watering fare. Especially after being taken over by new owners, it’s menu has had a complete overhaul – with authentic cuisine that has celebrities and critics raving and coming back for more!
