Where – Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Bandra, Mumbai.
Who – As a Mumbai native who wasn’t well aware of her roots, Sapna garnered inspiration from her grandmother and made her directorial debut with Sindhustan. Through this documentary, Sapna aims to keep the Sindhi culture alive. She wants the newer generation to learn more about the Sindhi province and its history. Using her tattoos as a catalyst for storytelling, she attempts to revive the geographical existence of Sindh in everybody’s minds.
Little did she know that a chance meeting with a group of Fakirs at a music concert would lead to Sindhustan. Now this documentary lets the debut filmmaker explore Sindhi culture and the stories behind the pre and post partition era through conversations with Sindhis across the world.
