Once a palatial home to an aristocratic Zamindar family, the Rajbari Bawali has been skillfully restored by Ajay Rawla to reflect in ambience, feel and experience a typical 18th century mansion, integral to Bengal’s glorious history and culture.

Thakur Dalaan

The attempt to immerse the guest in a unique cultural experience is a very significant part of the Rajbari Bawali. By using bricks specially made and brought from Murshidabad, their dining spaces incorporate the feel of a modern hotel within its regal design and structure.

Their famous Thakur Dalaan uses eclectic decor to give one 18th century vibes, with traditional cuisine to match its interiors.

A mouth watering traditional Zamindari Lunch at the Thakur Dalaan – steamed rice, shonali mugher dal, shukto, jhuri aloo bhaja, seasonal bhaja, bori diye shaak bhaja, aloo poshto, bhetki paturi, kochupata chingri, chicken dak bangalow and luchi.

The thali is served with Aam Shotto (khejurer chutney) and papad and finished off with dessert comprising of Noeln Gurer Rosogolla and Sandesh.

The Gazebo

The Gazebo is another delightful place for lunch by the pool on a crisp sunny day. The lighter furniture and antiques placed around the pool provide a great outdoor experience for guests.

A unique non traditional Sattvic Thali served with chicken and fish and steamed fish with vermicelli noodles.

Bar by the Courtyard

The Rajbari Bawali provides dining by their courtyard bar where one can enjoy a continental meal overlooking their central attraction.

A delicious continental meal – Fish with lemon sauce, mash and sauteed vegetables and Caramel Custard.

Recreation Centre – JailKhana

A delicious Bloody Mary in their JailKhana – this unique space also serves as a recreation centre with games like Billiards and Carrom.

Dining in the Verandah with Soup and Momos prepared by a Bhutanese chef.

Whether traditional or modern, the food at the Rajbari Bawali is absolutely delicious. An array of Indian, Oriental and Continental, dishes are served  here, made with fresh vegetables and spices from the villages nearby at Bawali. One can also arrange a private dining experience for an intimate dinner or a group celebration.
